New Margins for CHF Pairs starting from 12:00 GMT+0 Today, January 16 2015

FinFX would like to inform you that starting from 12:00 GMT+0 Friday, 16th of January 2015, they will increase margin on EURCHF pair to 8% and on all the other CHF currency pairs to 5% due to unprecedented volatility in the Swiss franc.

Temporary suspension of trading in CHF pairs on 15th January 2015

FinFX would like to inform their clients, that the Swiss National Bank (SNB) decided to discontinue the minimum exchange rate of CHF 1.20 per Euro and at the same time lowered its interest rate to -0.75%. This leads to extreme volatility and extremely low liquidity especially in CHF pairs. Due to this reason, the major banks and other liquidity providers temporarily suspended trading in CHF pairs.

FinFX would like to inform you that trading in CHF currency pairs is back to normal.

New Margins for RUB Pairs starting from Sunday 7th of December

FinFX would like to inform all their clients that starting from Sunday 7th of December, 2014 they will increase margin on RUB to 2% on weekdays (with doubled margin requirements over weekends and holidays when the market is closed). This is due to increased market risk and volatility in the RUB pairs.

Trading hours for precious metals during Thanksgiving 2014

FinFX would like to inform you that due to Thanksgiving Holiday on 27th of November, there are some changes in the opening hours of precious metals.

The Gold (XAUUSD) and Silver (XAGUSD) pairs will close on Thursday 27 November 2014 at 18:00 GMT and reopen again at 23:00 GMT! On Friday 28 November Gold and Silver close at 18:45 GMT!

Summary of Thanksgiving 2014 operating hours for Gold and Silver price feeds:

Wednesday, 26 November - Gold and Silver will close normally at 22:00 GMT+0.

Thursday, 27 November - Gold and Silver will close at 18:00 GMT+0 and reopen at 23:00 GMT+0.

Friday, 28 November - Gold and Silver will close at 18:45 GMT+0.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends in Europe and the US

FinFX would like to inform you that this Sunday, on 26th of October 2014, Daylight Saving Time will end in Europe at 01:00 GMT.

The US DST change will follow one week later as it will end on Sunday, 2nd of November at 02:00 (Local time).

How do these DST changes affect the Trading Hours?

FX Pairs

Starting from Sunday 26th of October, EOD (End of Day), when our Liquidity Providers reset their feeds, is one hour earlier on the trading servers at 21:00 GMT. Thus, on Sunday, 26th October, FX trading opens at 21:00 GMT.

Also, on Friday, 31st of October, trading closes at 21:00 GMT.

However, on Sunday 2nd of November (after the US DST change) markets open normally at 22:00 GMT and also close normally at 22:00 GMT on Friday, 7th of November.

Precious Metals

Gold (XAU/USD) and Silver (XAG/USD) feeds open at 22:00 GMT on Sunday 26th of October and close at 21:00 GMT on Friday, 31st of October.

On Sunday, 2nd of November (after the US DST change) Gold and Silver open at 23:00 GMT and close normally at 22:00 GMT on Friday, 7th of November.

FinFX ECN Pro Live and FinFX Managed Account Live Server IP addresses will be changed starting from Friday 26 September 2014

By changing the FinFX ECN Pro and FinFX Managed Account Live Servers' IP addresses, FinFX is able to provide you with even faster network infrastructure and execution.

The ECN Pro Server will be changed on September 26, 2014 to the following IP address: 162.255.145.159:443 at 07:00 AM (GMT)

The Managed Account Server will be changed on September 29 , 2014 to the following IP address: 162.255.145.160:443 at 07:00 AM (GMT)

The easiest way of updating the IP Address without having to update to a new version of MetaTrader 4 is to log in to your existing FinFX ECN Pro Account before Friday September 26th or to your existing PAMM Account before Monday September 29th. By doing this the MetaTrader Client Software will automatically work also after the updates.

In the case the login fails after the server update even when you have followed the above instructions, it is also possible to login by using the new server IP.

1. First on your MetaTrader 4 platform go to File -> Login to Trade Account



2. Enter your Login and Password as normal and in the server field enter new the server address

American Express credit cards will no longer be accepted for payments starting from the October 7th 2014

FinFX would like to inform you that starting from the October 7th 2014 they will no longer be able to accept American Express credit cards for foreign exchange transactions. However, all the other major credit cards will be accepted as before.

Thus, they urge you to find an alternative deposit method in case you are currently using American Express in your money transactions with FinFX.

Gold (XAUUSD) and Silver (XAGUSD) pairs will close on Monday, 26 May at 17:00 GMT

FinFX would like to inform that due to the US Memorial Day on Monday 26 May, there will be some changes in the trading schedule for Gold (XAUUSD) and Silver (XAGUSD) pairs.

US Memorial Day operating hours for gold and silver price feeds:

Monday May 26, 2014 - Gold and silver trading ends at 17:00 GMT and reopens at 22:00 GMT.

However, the Forex pairs will be open normally during this day.
