Important MT4 Build Update

Pepperstone suggests that all clients should keep their MT4 platform up to the latest build where possible, as each update often makes significant improvements to performance of the platform.

From August 1st 2013, MT4 Client terminals older than build 500 will no longer be supported and the message "Old Version" will appear with the platform not connecting to the trading servers.

Clients can check the MT4 build by going to "help" on their platform and selecting "about", in this section it will display the Version and most importantly the Build number.

To update your platform you can right click on the Pepperstone Icon on your desktop; select properties, then click the compatibility tab and make sure "run this program as an administrator" is clicked. Alternatively you can also download the platform from the client area of our website, which is the latest build

Updated Trading Apps - iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini

Metaquotes have recently made a number of updates to their trading apps for iPhone and iPad.

The updated versions are now native for the iPhone 5, iPad and iPad Mini.

The iPad App has significant updated capabilities for trading, traders can now:

• Open up to four charts simultaneously
• Trade from charts with One Click Trading
• View the terminal (trades, history, news, journal ..etc) and charting at the same time

Search for metatrader 4 on either a smartphone or tablet and the app will detect your device type. It will download the correct specifications to your device so that you can trade where and when you want.

Server Time to GMT +3

On Sunday the 10th of March 2013, the Pepperstone MT4 Server time will move one hour forward to GMT +3 hours.

Pepperstone bases MT4 Server time on "5pm New York", the internationally recognised end-of-day in the forex markets. The US will be changing to Daylight Saving Time on the 10th of March 2013. With the US turning clocks one hour forward the Pepperstone MT4 Server Time will also move one hour forward.

How does this affect me?

The only noticeable change that you will experience is that the Market Watch time in MT4 will now be set at GMT+3. This might not affect your trading at all - however, depending on your timezone, this may cause the market to open one hour earlier on Monday. The MT4 server time will still open at 0:00 on the charts, this may just be an hour earlier for your time-zone.

GMT Offset

If you are using an EA with a GMT offset time, then you must change the GMT offset to +3 just prior to the 10th of March.
